the state of it
This country has my heart. The land here is incredible but while I love it as a place to live, working here has its limitations. Where to? I’m not in much of a hurry, and I don’t know. Melbourne? the UK? There are plenty of options on a New Zealand passport. I’d like to finish a few projects locally though and enjoy a summer a bit before setting off.
Surprisingly, I haven’t developed claustrophobia living in my shack near the beach. It’s cold and haven’t been anywhere near snow or surf for months.
Economic winter hasn’t lifted. The last few months have been an exercise in managing expenses. Thankfully I’ve got decent tools for that job now, and good times are forecast.
I’m enjoying
- crisp alpine air in the mornings
- mid-winter faux-xmas parties
- philosophy and Chinese tea
- getting work done
I’m looking forward to
- traveling North again
- field testing
- strength training
- harvesting the rewards
